YOU ARE AT "RED ROCK 3"

Nevada and California is filled with mountains like these (Ansel Adams had his fun). In searching for archeological/anthropological evidence of the past, man-kinds past, I think the best place to search, are places of interesting and beautiful natural settings.

A lone motorcyclist enjoys the ride. One of many motorcyclists who come to (and/or live in) Las Vegas.
RED ROCK CANYON is a Federal Conservation Area, open to the public (fee: $5 car, etc), and is a very close drive 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip (at the edge of the Sumerlin Suberbs, West Las Vegas)
Take the 215 BELTWAY (from the 15 Frwy at the Airport take the 215 west/north, or from Downtown take the 95 to the Sumerlin Parkway to the 215 Beltway then go south)
EXIT at Charleston (turn West)
Till you get to RED ROCK CANYON (U.S. National Conservation Area)
There is a entry fee, they have restrooms, a park center (with indoor info on the park), bring WATER, Camera, plan to spend some time (30 min quick drive, or 1 hr tooling around stoping for a minute at various stops, or if your hiking, bring proper equipment, and go in groups, and its less crowded on week days.
