Better quality copies available upon request email@example.com NOTE: format of photos shows one hour later than actual time (camera time was set to Daylight Savings Time and never set to regular time). The Fur Protests start at around 12:00, the day after Thanksgiving (Black Friday). Extra signs and leaflets are usually available. Metro Police usually ride by, and have never given us a hard time.

FUR PROTESTERS 2007 Day After Thanksgiving; Animal Rights in Action: Mall Security (yellow jacket, brim hat) telling protesters they can not stand on the sidewalk outside the Fashion Show Mall, like they do every year, the day after Thanksgiving. I had been holding up a sign, but was told I could not by Mall Security, who shoved me (sideways, placing his chest against my shoulder) while advising me (a bit rough, see my article on Personal Space http://archure.net/psychology/space anything less than 18 inches is reserved for Wrestling or Intamacy, what did the officer have in mind? comming right up to my face and start shoving me with his body?) notice how close the officer is to the woman leader in the photo, the officers place themselves in physical contact with people, thats rude and undoubtedly illegal), so I took photos instead of holding a sign (took a break), while the other protesters continued. We have rights, and so do animals. Is the sidewalk public property? even if it isn't, can people peacefully assemble to promote animal rights? (in a town that allows people to pass out call girl leaflets on the sidewalks?). The Metro Police ride bicycles past us every year, without complaint nor warning to Fur Protesters (very glad to have them there). Not all the protesters are even vegetarians, everyone is welcome. Note: I have shopped at the Fashion Show Mall, and like it, I hope the Mall management realizes that we are just concerned citizens, who also like to shop, just not for Animal products (my shoes are not really leather).
At the 2006 Protest, Mall management stood on property with Blue Prints trying to convince Metro Police that we did not have the right to be there. But Metro has always allowed our presence (that I have seen). As Animal Rights Activists, we try to be friendly, attracting support with our friendly smiles and good cause.
I had been holding on to the left side of this sign, in the interst of modesty on behalf of the ladies, when a Mall Security Officer came up and ordered me to move and walked/leaned onto my body forcing me to move. So the lady in black on the left took over (she is one of the group leaders). So I started taking lots of photos (must have been around 100 photos), and lots of pedestrians stopped to take photos too.

After a while even the Sargent Security Officer started taking photos
Pleasure? or to Identify Animal Rights Activists?
After threats, orders, shoving, and stress from Mall Security, I fled up the escallator to the pedestrian bridge and took more photos from a distance, along with another Animal Rights Activist who passed out PETA leaflets.
