Predictions were made long ago (7th century AD and long before), of the end of the world in 2012, and by this photo at wikipedia (links below), we see that that Neptune's path and Pluto's path come very close in 2012, but while Pluto is there, at the meeting of the paths, Neptune is further away from that crucial meeting point during 2012, so, not in our lifetime (most likely)

NOTE: Although Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were only discovered in recent times, there is evidence that the ancients knew about them long ago. I have seen Uranus with the naked eye many times (officially discovered in 1781, hah), and once saw Uranus and Neptune in conjunction with binoculars (around 1992?) just above the western horizon (helps magnify it). However, I am still very concerend about Solar Wind from the Crab Nebula (I think its Crab Nebula?), due any time now. And a mere metorite a few miles wide could wipe out civilization, any time, and probably has before, thats why they had to rediscover Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto
